  • Illegal drugs or cannabis products
  • Hazardous chemicals, flammable liquids
  • Lithium batteries above 100 Wh (loose)
  • Live animals, untreated animal products
  • Meat, dairy & unpackaged foods (biosecurity)
  • Live plants, seeds & soil
  • Human remains & body parts
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Cash, precious metals in bulk
  • Currency above USD $10,000 undeclared

RESTRICTED — requires permits

  • Prescription medication — requires JA Ministry of Health permit
  • Medical devices — requires Biomedical Engineering clearance
  • Telecom equipment — requires JA SMA approval
  • Drones & RC aircraft — requires JCAA permit
  • Firearm parts (non-functional) — requires FLA license
  • Agricultural tools & pesticides — PCA permit
  • Alcohol & tobacco — subject to import duty + SCT
  • Used electronics — must have proof of purchase
  • Books above $500 value — cultural heritage check
